There are a lot of really impactful images out there this week but this one spoke the loudest demonstrating exclusion falling and inclusion rising which should continue to be a goal for the United States as a whole.
The Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) had a busy week first with a 6-3 decision to save the Affordable Healthcare Act (ACA or Obamacare) staving off political shutdown while preventing the loss of healthcare to millions; and, second with a 5-4 decision to allow same-sex marriage nationwide, rendering individual state law null.
Charleston’s Rev. Clementa Pinckney and eight other black church members killed by a white racist gunman who declared he was there to “kill black people,” and an online manifesto attributed to him contained white supremacist screeds. The racist killings prompted South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley to call for the removal of the Confederate flag from the Statehouse grounds.
Emotions, opinions and abusive behavior were running high on the polarizing ends of all arguments either for or against. Between the manipulation machine of a desperate antiquated media struggling to maintain relevance and a government system built on the success of polarizing division and manipulation, both were their to do their part to maintain a divide among the people for their benefit and not for the greater good. This type of manipulation from media and government is abusive. This site often encourages the removal of information for either end of the extremes of any argument or position to avoid manipulation, as a means to focus on the facts and make educated decisions based on those facts.
#TeaVsTreeVsReality Active Case Study
Gearing up for a Presidential election year where six confirmed Democrats and 20 confirmed Republicans are running expect to see “us vs them” coming from all sides to help create a division without any real facts given to the American people. On the heels of unethical Brian Williams mis-remembering and network evening news soon to fall out of favor much like newspapers did 10 years ago watch for the media play up sides and manipulate facts to try and stay relevant and again not provide facts to the American people.
Let’s run the Confederate flag & Same-Sex Marriage through The Sociopathic Business Model™:
The most shocking part is that either of these topics are even still a discussion in 2015 but we have our government and media to thank for that-polar opposites create job security for media and government officials. Legal acts are protected by the consititution.
Policy.Mic Here’s The Racist Meaning of the Confederate Flag from the man who designed it.
Confederate flag (Or the White Man’s Flag)– “We are fighting to maintain the heaven ordained supremacy of the white man over the inferior or colored race.” That’s pure racism, take it down. It was a part of history not unlike World World II Concentation Camps in Auschwiz was a part of history and just like at the swastika is offensive, demeaning and insulting so is the confederate flag which is steeped in racism. Anything less is selective tolerance. If you are fighting for this flag your actions are abuse and you’re not recognizing the rights of others.
Same-Sex Marriage-The Supreme Court had to step in because our states felt they could make decisions on our behalf. Here’s the thing, if you’re a man and don’t want to marry a man then don’t. It is your right but it does not give someone the right to make the choice from someone else. Many cite religious reasons yet that’s inconsistent & contradictory as any God I’ve read about doesn’t judge and certainly doesn’t trust the minions of God to judge. Judgment of others goes against the fundamental principle of every religion. And if your God says same-sex relations are wrong your God has asked you to love that person and not judge them anyway. Anything less than accepting (don’t agree with-fine that’s your right) but it is abusive behavior while not recognizing the rights of others and is selective tolerance.
